I tried to assign eeearrrly morning shifts to the international set and/or moms of newborns, since I figured we’d be up on and off anyway, and we get the most slack if we’re not dead on our time.

Everyone else was assigned a time using an extremely complicated system so highly technical I couldn’t possibly explain it.  Mostly, it involved Gabriel pointing at people’s names at random.

When you email me your photo, include infor on time taken, location, caption and your blog URL so I can link to you.

Thank you all very much for contributing!

Speaking of photography, are you on Instagram?  If you are, you should check out 365Clique.  It’s a low key photo of the day group.  There’s a theme for each day, and it’s a lot of fun to see all the different ways people approach the topic.

3.
If you’re friends with me on Facebook, you’ve already seen me mention this, and if not, I’d like to mention it here, too.  Please pray for this family.  The mom and dad are former students of mine, and their adorable son was born with a heart defect.  He’s spent his whole life demonstrating what “Will to Live” looks like, and his parents are the young embodiment of grace under pressure.

4.
On the Catholic Vitamins podcast, I talked quite a bit about the formation group I’m part of.  Two members of the group (who also happen to be baby V Cake’s godparents) were asked by the founder of the formation group to build a chapel on their property.  To help raise funds for the undertaking, group members submitted recipes for a cookbook.  I have it under good authority that the recipes are delicious, and if you’d like to order one, you can go here to do it.

5.

After a couple of data entry issues, I’m still puzzling my way through baby poll results.  I think I’m just going to turn it all over to Ken and have him track down mid-labor Twitter guesses/email entries/Facebook snafus.  Then he’ll do his number cruching, data entry magic he does, and we’ll have winners soon.

6.
I can’t believe I’ve written this much without posting a picture.  That’s unpossible.
Joaquin at the library.  Which we now can go to without shame, since I paid off our SEVENTY FOUR DOLLAR FINE a few days before V Cake’s birth.
Yes.  seventy-four dollars.  American currency.
Thank God the librarians took pity on a hugely pregnant woman and cut me a pretty sweet deal.  Otherwise, I would have had to sell The Jude.

7.
Oh.  Everyone who expressed very sweet concern over John-Luke after reading this post will be relieved to know that the boy is just fine.  He got 15-20 minutes in the bath with water being poured over the side of his face, and other than some redness which was gone an hour later, there are no ill effects.  And I’m now considering putting up five lead lines in the backyard, and hooking each child onto one whenever they go outside.

Go see Jen for more.

Every day a new reason to get on the instagram. Super unfair!

I am dying over your $74 library fine. That is SO awesome. I mean…for me to hear about. Not for you to deal with, no sirree.

Wow !! These are quite thought provoking takes. I don’t know how you keep up with it all :) Being a fan of libraries, I’m glad y’all are once again on good terms and can visit even though I know that must be difficult with 6 little ones. I know that I will love seeing the Sunday photos. I always do. I am THRILLED that John-Luke suffered no lasting damage !!! The sweet little family fighting for the life of their baby is inspiring. Whew !! It makes me tired just commenting. LOL

The $74 fine had me cracking up. I wracked up some decent fines in my single days, so I’m sure I’ll have ridiculous ones when I have my own brood!

I emailed you about my question regarding this podcast you speak of.

and Joaquin looks SO different with his hawk down. I love it.

Another drop in the ‘cari is my hero’ bucket with that fine.

Cari, I can’t get the “pray for this family” link to work…I’m getting the Error 404 message.
Also, these days go by so quickly; I cannot tell you how much you will miss these crazy chaotic times. I’ll talk to my older ones and say, “remember when you climbed the 20ft tree & couldn’t get out” or “remember when you covered the dog in peanut butter & then ran around naked?” They look back at me with looks of horror and disgust, “Mom! You are just making that up!” At least you have evidence. Sadly, I did not take enough pictures.

  6. says

Yikes with the library fine! I, myself, have been avoiding the library because I hear I owe them 60$. OOPS. Blasted kids and their love of books!

And belated congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby girl.. she’s so precious (and I love her nickname).

$74!?!?!?!? that is like half a tank of gas!!!!! I am glad bloggie pals like Vakes nickname better than your FB followers ;) I think I am up to .00019858th of a penny on the name rights now!
